Easy-to-use, three-function pedometers count MVPA time (moderate to vigorous physical activity), steps, and total activity time.
NASPE, the American Heart Association, and other experts agree that getting at least 30 minutes of MVPA (60 minutes for children) in bouts of 10 or more minutes at a time is one of the cornerstones of a healthy life. The FITstep™ is one of the first pedometers that lets users accurately measure how much MVPA they get each day. Users calculate how many steps per minute it takes to sustain an elevated heart rate, and then enter that steps-per-minute (SPM) threshold into the pedometer. Every time the user exceeds that threshold, the pedometer times and records it as a bout of MVPA. The threshold can be set between 80 and 150 SPM, so users of all fitness levels can get accurate readings. Displays a graph that shows both the intensity and duration of the MVPA. Use to monitor student achievement within the Active & Healthy Schools™ Program or other school wellness program.
Pedometer features an oversize LCD display, delayed reset button, sleep mode (shuts off when not in use), alligator-style clip that fastens securely to belts or wristbands, and a long-life replaceable battery. Order individually in Red/Blue or in Black, or save with our convenient FITstep™ packs that include 15, 30, or 100 pedometers plus storage cases.
